Details of Fixed Fee
Our fixed fee for a Contract Review service is likely to be between $3,500 + GST to $5,500 + GST, depending on the size of the contract and the number of special conditions.
In order to confirm the fixed fee, we will need to see the contract documents you need reviewed.Ā
If you decide not to go ahead with the contract at any time up to the point we provide you with the departures schedule, we will only charge for the work we have done up to the point you instruct us to stop work on an hourly basis, at the rate $595/hr + GST, but only up to a maximum amount of the fixed fee.
If a departures schedule has been partially prepared, but not completed, we will provide you with that partially completed departures schedule to demonstrate the work completed up to the point you have provided us instructions to stop work.
If you decide not to go ahead with the contract after the point we provide you with the departures schedule, our fixed fee will apply.
Estimate of Turnaround Time
Steps 1 to 5 of our Contract Review service will typically take 2 to 5 business days for us to turnaround, subject to our availability at the time of your enquiry.
So that you have a good understanding of the likely timeframe for a departures to be prepared, tabled and negotiated before a contract is signed, here is a list of the steps that normally occur in any contract negotiation:
1. We provide you with a departures schedule (1 - 2 business days, subject to availability);
2. We speak with you to explain the departures recommended, and help prepare you for a discussion with your builder/customer (1 business day);
3. You speak with your team internally, and provide the departures schedule to your builder/customer (1 business day);
4. Your builder/customer digests the requested departures and provides you with their replies into the departures schedule (3 - 5 business days). While this is happening, you are normally tying up loose ends in your camp. For example, you may need to speak with your insurance broker about your insurance policy inclusions;
5. You send us the responses from your builder/customer. We provide further replies for you to go back with, and speak with you regarding those further replies (1-2 business days);
6. You send your replies to the builder/customer's responses back to the builder/customer (1 business day);
7. There is normally a "good bloke" phone call that takes place at this point to close out the last few items (1 business day) OR;
8. You might need to meet with your builder to go through the departures where the parties are not yet in agreement (1 to 3 business days). If you need us to attend the meeting with you, this can be arranged but is not included in our fixed contract review fee. You should allow 3 to 5 business days for us to be available to attend a meeting;
9.Once the parties agree to the contract departures, we will need to check the changes to the contract have been properly made before you sign (allow 2 - 3 business days).
Ā
Please bear in mind that the above timeframes are an estimate only, and are largely dependent on how the parties choose to approach the negotiation.
